Inky Boredom

Out of the depths of apathy sprouted this. It was a slow day

painting under the influence

i was told to get drunk and paint over the summer, something to do with letting go of inhibition…..

so here are the first attempts

overall i’m fairly satisfied with how that went, i think next time i should maybe stop when the simple task of holding the paintbrush up becomes a challenge…..i think i may use some of them as backgrounds for forcoming illustrations…

i also appear to have envisioned some kind of hybrid of iced buns and nipples. make of that what you will…

Interpret this poem and illustrate it:

i chose the idea of the poem being a metaphorfor the journey through death, the for different girls in the poem being the spiritual representations of four different stages in the deceased’s life  …

old lady dies in her sleep….

spirit of her as a young child hears music and moves towards ‘ the light’ …

A hand reaches down to her through the light …

the responsibilities of life try and drag her back …

she eventually finds peace in a vast, calm sea.

A short architectural phase

This is part of a building designed by gaudi, i drew it while on holiday in barcelona a few years ago. 

some of the best architecture i’ve ever seen, beats anything i’ve encountered in britain.
